Prague Castle is the most important castle in the Czech Republic. The castle is also one of the largest castle complexes in the world. It has been the residence of Czech princes since the 9th century, later kings and since 1918, it has been the official residence of Czech President. One of the most visited sights in the Czech Republic is also registered in the list of monuments protected as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Saint Vitus Cathedral dominates the castle and buildings of all the architectural styles of the past millennium are represented in the complex.
There are several gorgeous gardens included in the complex, such as Royal Garden, South Gardens or Deer Moat. Churches in the complex include, besides St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica or All Saints Chapel. There are also several palaces, such as Old Royal Palace, Summer Belvedere or Lobkowicz Palace. Prague Castle can also offer many glorious halls, the most well-known are Vladislav Hall, Spanish Hall and Column Hall.
